Be careful what you ask for. That other company whose name was in your post earlier but appears to have been deleted now, does NOT offer the option that Constant Contact used to. Their "forward to a friend" button just links to the web page where the email is archived, whereas the option offered by Constant Contact in the 2nd generation editor actually forwarded the email itself, with no requirement for the recipient to click a link to view it.
The problem is that when people forward the email through their email the newsletter is completely messed up, and you say there is no way to fix that when it leaves constant contact servers. The forward to a friend is a good suggestion to the reader and should be able to send from the server and arrive in better condition. I am very frustrated.
Yes, the legacy templates are our older version of the editor. The new third generation editor has already been released, and any of the 'standard' templates in your account will be using that newer editor. We do not currently have an ETA on when the forward to a friend button will be added to this editor, but we'll be continuing to pass those requests on to the engineering team so that they know it's something people are wanting and asking about.
That is a great point and I will definitely pass that feedback on to our developers. Unfortunately, even when we had the forward to a friend button included, we didn't see many people utilizing it so that was still a problem. Hopefully our developers can enable something in future releases that will fit your needs!
