I'm sorry you're experiencing some frustration while managing your contacts. I would be happy to help, though I think we will need more information.
1) Would you be able to provide a few examples of contacts you've attempted to remove that are still showing up?
2) When you say the names are still showing in the list does that mean you are seeing the name of a contact, minus it's email address, still residing inside of a list?
3) What lists are you seeing this in?
When contacts are deleted or unsubscribed they are supposed to come off whatever lists they were on prior.
