Re: ARGH!! Error can't be found...

Jeff,

I am having a similar problem.  This is pretty standard code that we copy and paste and I am receiving the same message:  "You need to provide additional information. Please correct the errors below and try again."

Any help would be great!!!

Here is my code:

Re: ARGH!! Error can't be found...

HI Ari,

Thanks for posting in the Community. I pasted this code into the Advanced Editor of a custom HTML template and I wasn't able to replicate the error you mentioned. Are you pasting into an XHTML template instead?

Thanks,

Hannah M.

Re: Standard HTML characters not supported

Hi Jed,

To make an em dash, you can use this coding:

<Span style="letter-spacing: -3px;">---</span>

You can edit the - in the coding above to make it longer or shorter.

Hope that helps!

Re: Standard HTML characters not supported

Thanks, Marissa.  I'll try that as a workaround.  I just discovered that someone else had the same question (and was offered the same workaround) . . . in 2010!

I guess I shouldn't hold my breath about CC actually implementing a fix.

Re: Standard HTML characters not supported

I tried using <Span style="letter-spacing: -3px;">---</span> but a message pops up that said " An error occurred while parsing your text letter. Please make sure all your tags are closed appropriately.The element type "Span" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "".

Re: Standard HTML characters not supported

Hi @jsb14747

I'm sorry that you are having trouble with that. Can you try using this code:

<TBODY>
<TR>
<TD style="COLOR: #000000" align=center><SPAN style="LETTER-SPACING: -3px">---</SPAN></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> as the entire block and see if that works for you? Because the code that you are using should be correct in terms of how you had it set up. If you notice that you are still getting the error, please paste the whole code of the block here so we can investigate what is causing that error message. Thank you so much.

Re: Standard HTML characters not supported

Why can't emdash be an "insert" function in the left sidebar???  Why does constant contact not support such a commonly used punctuation?

@AmericanLifeLeague

Thank you for your feedback! The code for most special characters and symbols work. Em Dash's are one of a select few that aren't compatible. One alternative I would recommend is to insert an image of the em dash into your email.

Please feel free to leave your feedback in our feedback forum as well as voting for your topic as well! This is where how our engineers become aware of feature requests such as this one!

Thank you again!,

Will it ever work?

This is an unknown. Your best course of action is to provide your insight into our feedback forum and vote. The more votes one case receives, the more aware our technical team will be of it and this means a better chance it will be implemented.
