So sad to see this topic never got resolved...I too can confirm that an email that was not being clipped on test emails, was clipped in the actual real version we sent out. My guess is that Constant Contact includes even more code to the email when it is sent for real than what they add to the test emails. Your developers definitely have to do something in order to reduce the file size of the email as prior to a major update you had this year, we were sending huge newsletter and never got clipped. Now, all of our newsletters have become a challenge trying to find how to save words and which images to eliminate, etc... it feels like using Twitter with the word limit now...

I apologize that this is still an issue with that web mail service. We really wish that emails were not clipped but unfortunately that specific web mail service has limitations in regards to the length and size of your email. Please let us know if you have additional questions.

I think the code that Constant Contact's builder generates should be seriously optimized to address this issue. It is very easy to blame "that specific webmail service" but unfortunately for this situation, Gmail, with 1.2 billion users, has 20% share of all email clients globally, meaning 20 out of every 100 emails we send out will be clipped.
To give you (and other users having this problem) an example of why I say you should optimize the code and a possible workaround, simply eliminating a "spacer" saves 1.17kb which is huge considering it is only blank space and the limit before Gmail starts clipping is 102kb. So, in our last newsletter, we were using like 15 spacers, I erased 'em all saving a total of 17.55kb (17% of Gmail's limit) and voila! the email was not clipped any more.

This is happening in my relatively short (e.g. 3 paragraphs - 162 words total) email as well. The biggest downside I see is that the CAN-SPAM footer and unsubscribe link is the most important part being clipped. I'm concerned that subscribers can't find the unsubscribe link easily. That seems like an issue that could compound over time.
Hi there - I feel your pain! This problem has plagued me for at least two years. It is truly troublesome! One or two years ago, I had a "chat" about it, and the service rep told me that it is a gmail problem, not a CC problem. I see that another poster asked for a fix for the same problem ...over a YEAR ago, and still my messages are clipped every week. I really wish that Constant Contact would put it at the top of their to-do list. Hello, CC - as the comedians say - "Is this thing on?"
I apologize you are seeing your email be shortened in your inbox as well. With that said, I would like to point out this happening due to a Gmail limitation that affects other email marketing providers as well. In fact we have an article in our Help Center that helps explain how long the email has to be for it to be clipped. This article also goes over details on how this can be avoided as well. Thank you for reaching out to the Community about your email! I have tested your campaign in my own inbox and was unable to replicate this same experience. Would you be able to please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing? Emails tend to clip when it exceeds 102KB in size or is too content-heavy. However this is not the case with your email. So having any screenshots will allow us to see exactly what you are experiencing. Are you also sending yourself multiple test previews without deleting the previous ones? It is important to note that Gmail does have a setting where it will condense the message if multiple copies of an email has been received.

Thanks for the follow up. I'm adding a screenshot (below) of the live email as it's seen on my laptop. You can see that in order to see the can-spam footer, you end up having to click the "3 dots" at the bottom bottom to reveal the footer. I will say that when I view the live email on my mobile device, the footer isn't cut off.
Also it's noteworthy that when I send a "test" from my Constant Contact account that the footer is not cut off, as in the screenshot. Any insight is appreciated.
