Thanks for this feedback, great idea!
An easy workaround would be to include your multiple choice question and then include an open ended question. I've used both below you show you how this would work.
Not only is it really important to non-profit organizations to be able to include a donation on the registration form - but it is really important to be able to include it as an open-ended amount. I have had several conversations with people at Constant Contact about this since 2012 and this still hasn't been able to happen. It can't be that hard! Whatever amount is filled in can simply get added to the grand total at the end, and can be paid via the same means.
How can you ask people to click on a separate PayPal button to donate (and thus navigate away from their registration form) when they're in the middle of registering for an event with a fee that will be paid via PayPal! And yet that's the only kind of "solution" that PayPal offers for this.
The one work-around that I have found (clumsy and awkward as it is) is to include contributions in the "Additional Items" category, set a unit "price" for contributions, and then instruct people via text on the registration form to select the desired MULTIPLE from the drop down to reach the amount they want to give. For example, set "Contribution" as an item at $10.00 "each", then they can select multiples of $10 from the drop down (i.e., 1, 2, 3, etc). Although that line still reads "$10" and has no subtotal, the correct total contribution amounts ($10, $20, $30, etc.) WILL display down at the bottom of the form on a line labeled Contribution.
There is another place where an open-ended field is needed -- actually -- even in the FEE area - when you want to offer admission on a "Pay what you wish" basis to an event. Currently this is not possible.
Please make this a priority in the New Year (2014) and SOLVE IT! Thanks!
Thanks for posting this feedback!
Thanks for posting this feedback! Have you considered including a Paypal button within your event emails to request donations?
Hi, I'm from a non-profit agency who is using Event Spot. Everything is great and easy to use. I would like to make a small suggestion. It would be great to have access to the decline (I can't make it) page in order to customize. If a user makes a donation, the only choice is to click the Decline button to proceed. We would like to have a second button that says "Make a Gift" or "Donate". Thanks! Denise
Would love to have 'donation' option for guests on event Registration form...had to punt and put donation levels in as 'items', not the ideal solution. Link back out to the email invitation, where a donation button/interface can be placed, would be awkward for visitors it seems.
People have been requesting this change for 3 years!
Is there any chance this is being worked on? I can see that several have asked for it and there is obviously a lot of interest in this feature. We neeed it NOW!
Yes, this is absolutely needed. Inability to donate at time of event registration may be a deal-breaker for my org.
I can't believe this still is being discussed! I run events for a non-profit and not having a donation button in our registration form is an active detriment to the event and all the charities we work with. This sort of limit in the functionality of Constant Contact is a serious mark against continued use.
This is so frustrating that this is not an option. I need to be able to set up a "Pay-What-You-Wish" option on our event page. This idea has been in limbo for 5.5 YEARS.
We host free events, but would like to solicit donations at event registration. Having an option to register & donate would be wonderful. People don't generally decline our events, they just don't register. So having a donation option tied to the decline does not work for us. This could be a significant fund raising opportunity for our non-profit. Thank you.
I want to allow people to make a donation right on the event page while registering.
PLEASE allow donation button ON registration page!
Please include the option to give donations while filling out registration info. We bring in most of our event income through our registration form. We are unable to use Constant Contacts event registration options because of this!
We would like to see Constant Contact revise the donation form for invitees who decline so that it can be part of the online registration form for the events. We offer MANY free events where we would greatly benefit from registrants having the ability IN THE MOMENT to also add a donation of their own choosing. We have used the item with a fixed amount for years and we do get some donations, but we have had feedback that people would like to be able to choose their own amount and that selecting multiples is confusing and off-putting. Can you add a true donation option, like the one for invitees who can't make it - OR make an Item option with a "choose your amount" capability? Looking forward to your reply - Thanks!
