Need for one email to be able to register multiple times for an event

I am using Constant Contact for registrations for a church Summer Camp. We need separate registrations for each camper. We are having a problem with parents who are trying to register more than one child. The limit of one registration per one email address is VERY FRUSTRATING!! There should be a way to allow the same email to register more than one participant for an event. Please call me if you need clarification on my problem:**Removed By Moderator**. Thank you!!

Wow, unbelievable that this issue is still ongoing, since 2012 when this thread started.  Where is the logical explanation from Constant Contact to defend it's policy out not allowing more than one registration per email? People do need to go back and register other people. Why is that banned? I was thinking I set something wrong during initial set up when guests started calling me.

If it's a data quality issue then say so. The lack of an official explanation five years later is ridiculous. I have another event planned, and I'll be looking elsewhere for an online registration system.

Agree this is a frustrating part of Constant contact.

I have asked this question for at least the last 3 years about the inability to register more than one person on same email.  there are many reasons to have to do this.

Asked again this year and was again told that its a good suggestion and will escalate it up to their developers at CC.  Still not done.

Only option I see is to abandon constant contact and find a different platform

I really appreciate lots about Constant Contact, so will keep waiting for a solution to this problem. Hope it comes soon!

I agree. One email should be able to go back in to register for more people. We are using the registration for our events. One of our events allows for a person to sign up for a table of 8 people. They want to hold the table but do not always know will be their guests right away. They should be able to go in later and add their guests without having to use a different email address. Alternatively if we could add people on our end without requiring an email this could work as well.

Wow it's been 4 years since this was first suggested? How many votes are needed for an idea to hit the developer table for next project? This has been an issue for events as when a family member sends out a email to ask who wants to go, I'll take care of it, there are always the late responses.

Our company also needs the ability for a person to be able to use the same email address to register multiple persons for our events.  This could cause us to look at other event software if it does not get fixed.  There is no work around either.

You really should think about allowing the same email address to be used for registering multiple times for the same event/campaign. Not allowing this creates your platform to be unusable for some organizations

Add another to the agrivated customers. You shouldn’t have to fool the system with another email in order to register multiple students or attendees

I have a registrant that would like to add a guest but it won't let me do it. Can the registrant do it? The problem is they both have the same email address so it won't let him register the guest either.

Hey @AlisonRC45, registrants can register with an email only once. Currently, a unique email address is required for each registrant. If you anticipate that registrants will want to bring a guest, we do have the option for guests to be enabled. The instructions for this can be found here: https://knowledgebase.constantcontact.com/articles/KnowledgeBase/5563-allow-registrants-to-bring-gue...

I did take a look at your event and it looks like you have guests turned on for your recent event. If a guest wasn't added during the original registration process, they would either have to register with a different email or you can cancel the original registration. This would allow the original registrant to re-register with the same email and add the guest to their registration.

Thank you for responding.  It seems it would be easier if the system would simply let the registrant to go back into their registration and add the guest or make a change (such as choose another activity).  If I cancel the original registration the new registration will charge the individual again.  I don't want to issue a refund only to have charge the individual again for their registration.

I completely understand! We've got some other feedback regarding the ability to register with the same email address and being able to edit registration so I'll be adding your feedback to those requests.

As this has been issue for 5+ years and there seems to be no interest on Constant Contact's side to address it, we will be looking for another solution. Any ideas? Eventbrite?

Each time I look for answers to omission of simple, basic Event Registration features I find that a) ConstantContact has been aware of the issue for years, and b) ConstantContact has no intention of doing anything to resolve the many issues.

Has there been a solution to this issue?

I too have complained multiple times but Constant Contact does not want to address this. No wonder so many are using Eventbrite.

Another vote from me. This is a serious flaw and is impacting on our abililty to run our event. We will be considering other software for future events if this is not fixed (which is a pity because there's a lot to like about CC).

I have read a LOT of feedback for this issue, so I wanted to make sure it doesn't go away! I understand the unique email address thing; however, if WE are managing our events, WE manage that problem. I can't tell you how many classes I don't even bother using CC for because so many of our clients who want to send multiple people to our events, don't have a company email address for their employees - these are HVAC contracting companies, who don't often give their techs an email address...they have an office admin enter in multiple registrants using the admin's email address. I am at the point where I'm going to register them with a fake email address to make it easier for these companies, so we can have techs actually attend our events, and their owners wanting them to attend, rather than being a hassle! Ugh, so frustrating.

Come on, 7 years now and no fix?! Eventbrite is looking better and better for a lot of CC users.

Hi @MichelleB637. While I don't have information to share about any updates to our Event tool, I wanted to jump in and point out that we have an integration with Eventbrite. While I don't know the specifics of their product and if this specific capability is included with registering multiple people under one email address, if you create an event through there, you can include the event in your Constant Contact email using our Action Block. From there, you can view the reporting to see how many tickets were sold through the email and which of your contacts registered.

@Caitlin_M We pay an additional premium to use Constant Contact's registration tool. The tool should be equip with what we need. We pay that additional amount to have a reliable all-in-one product, not to rely on a third party that requires additional time and training.

@Caitlin_M , as DevonJ1 mentions - we pay extra for premium features with CC. I shouldn't have to use another service in addition to CC. I also do not want to discourage registrants for our training events with eventbrite fees they charge to those propective attendees. It's hard enough to fill seats at a classroom-type setting in the HVAC field. I can tell you we hear a lot of complaints from companies' admins who want to register service technicians for our classes. The admins need to use their email address to monitor the classes they send techs to. I really wish CC would take this to heart and develop a way for us to allow one email address for multiple registrants.

It would be wonderful if customers could use the same email address to purchase additional tickets to events. The current practice is very limiting for our guests.

Does anybody have a work around for this?  I didn't anticipate this problem when I set up my event but this limitation is creating a major headache for me.

@WilliamM4614..... I'm still waiting as well...been waiting for over 2 years!

Has there been a solution to this issue? We have organizations wanting to nominate two people for awards that we host that honor women in our community and they have to use two separate emails when registering their candidates. This is the second year in a row that we have had someone express frustration with this feature. Is there a solution to this besides creating a fake email or canceling the initial registration?

Hi @FirstNameL11982

We apologize for any inconvenience from this feature not being available. There are many factors that are used to decide what is added to or updated in our product which can cause us to sometimes not have a timeline for when a feature will be available. While we may not have a time estimate for this feature request, the more request a thread like these receive the higher of a priority it can be given by our Product Team. At this time there is not a workaround we can provide, we will however reach out to this thread with any further updates. In the meantime here is a section of our Community that helps explain what we do with our customer’s feedback.

This has been a ridiculous amount of time to wait for this feature. I am assuming that most people have moved on to other options.

We now use google forms for registrations/payments and there is a very user friendly option that allows me to select "allow more than one response".
