Registration for non-registrants after event

I recommend the ability to either modify a campaign landing page to turn off the auto response of registering someone AFTER an event has occurred or allow the registration and attended option on the non-response contacts page. We had people show up for a reception and I cannot add them to my attended list because I must show that they are registered however, once I register them, they receive an auto reply saying they are registered for an event that has already passed.
