Reply Form

Greeting Everyone,
I am still new to CC but I was wondering if there was a way to have a form in my emails for potential clients to fill in some basic information if they are interested in being contacted by telephone.

It wouldn't be anything too extravagant, just something along the lines of name, company, industry, telephone number.

Any help is appreciated.

A form in the email? No. That would not work. As you cannot process a server side script to get the information.

However, you could use a tool like Jotform to create the form, and then link to it from your email.

Thanks for the info Ron. I created a form on Jotform but I keep getting an unexpected error message when I try to insert the code into my email.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Thanks again.

You cannot put a form into an email message.

JotForm requires JavaScript, which is disabled due to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

So this is it? Is there really no way?

Re: Reply Form

Hi Tim,

Unfortunate no, you cannot add a form to your email due to coding. What you could do is direct contacts to your Update Profile link in your email where they can fill in more contact info for your lists. You can add an Update Profile link to the top of your email by following these steps:

Add  <SignupLink type="edit">Update Profile/Email Address</SignupLink> into the Permission Reminder text box.

I hope this helps,

Jarrad

Re: Reply Form

Well thanks for the answer. I just wonder why it shouldn`t be possible since I`ve got such mails already. I got emails where I could fill in data directly (google form) so I don`t understand why it shouldn`t be possible.

Tim,

Do you have a preference as to where you want your data stored? I provide form hosting and data storage for CTCT members that can't provide that on their own.

Well I don`t understand what that has to do with my issue. But you`re welcome to send me a message with more information.

Re: Reply Form

Tim, sorry if I wasn't clear enough, just because you can't insert a form in your email doesn't prohibit you from including a link to one from within it. All forms need to be processed by a backend. Some small businesses don't have the technical capacity to accomplish that and find the non standard approach that CTCT offers too complicated for a variety of reasons.

My service allows you to create a link to your own form that would store the data in your hosted database as well as allowing you to export it into CTCT or another CRM system.
