Editor’s Note: Happy New Years from all of us at Constant Contact! We want to thank you for a great 2017 and are looking forward to an even better 2018! If you haven’t seen our Thank You video yet, take a look here to watch.
Changes & Updates:
We’ve updated the screen that appears when you delete a contact list. Now, you’re only presented with one option - Delete the List. Previously, you had options to delete the list or delete the list and contacts. We listened to our customers feedback about this process and updated it for simpler contact and list management. Now, it functions this way:
When you choose to delete the list, if there are contacts that reside only on that list, then they will also be removed from your account. Let's take a look at an example. Say I have a List called "List A" with 2 email addresses - firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com. The email address firstname.lastname@example.org is in a couple of other lists in my account, but email@example.com is not, it is only in List A. If I delete List A, then firstname.lastname@example.org, will still be an active contact in my account and remain in the other lists; however, email@example.com will be removed from my account so that it is no longer counting towards my billable contacts. In order to ensure that you have a backup of all of your contacts, before deleting a list, you may want to export the list and save a copy to your computer as a backup.
If you have an email campaign created with the Second Generation Editor (2GE), the template name now has a “Legacy” label to help you identify which editor is being used.
An update to the navigation bar in your account. You will now see “Help” and the account owner’s name at the top right of the screen (this replaces the ? icon and the person icon). All of your menu options are still available, just with a new updated look. Tell us what you think! Old Look: New Look:
Text Highlighting available in 3GE! You can now select text and choose to add a Highlight color to it. Learn More here.
Instead of using the drag & drop functionality to add a block to your 3GE email you can also double-click on a block and it will be added to your email draft. In the past, you would only need to click once, but to avoid confusion and extra blocks, we’ve updated it to two clicks.
Updates to the Social Block - Now when you edit the Social block in 3GE, instead of the overlay window (the one that pops up in the middle of your screen), you will see a menu appear to the left where the Build Menu appears. In this menu, you will be able to add, reorder, and edit the social media icons. We also added a Styles button which allows you to choose all black, all gray, or full color icons for your social media sites. This new way of editing allows you to see your changes right as you make them in the design of your campaign! Find out more here.
The My Account page got a facelift! There are no changes to the functionality of the page, but the layout and design was updated to match what you see throughout the rest of your account.
