CC linkes being flagged on Facebook as Phishing attempts

HI Will,

Our FB page today got a slew of violation notices and one of the things they all had in common is that they had constant contant links in them (for event tickets/registrations (which we use tickets for).

Is this something others have experienced? Anything we can do to avoid it happening in the future?IMG_6298.png

Hello @Erin ,

Sounds like someone reported you on Facebook, and this was how Meta's moderation system chose to take action. I'd advise reaching out to Meta's support for further assistance and insight.

Hi @Erin ,

Our higher-level technical teams aren't able to recreate this issue when testing on their FB pages. If you're still experiencing the issue, can you please provide some of the following details:
  • If the issue is affecting other links from our system (email webpages, other landing pages), or just event-related links
  • If you've reached out to Meta support and they've responded, have they provided anything besides the general "cybersecurity" wording?
  • Are you sharing the event link by posting it natively in the Facebook program, or via the social posting tool within your Constant Contact account?

Hi Will,

Thanks for the follow-up.

  • The FIVE flagged "phishing" attempts all contained CC links for:
    • Registration/ticket page for an event contained in a comment response to a question (x2)
    • Post with the ticket/event details (x 3) -we use this feature for player registration, merch sales, and event ticket sales so feeling like we can't post these links without being flagged is a major issue
    • We didn't get flags on other links but we post those far less frequently than CC links
  • We only requested a review of one flag - it was for an even that still has not happened yet - we have not had any response yet. The detail they did provide in the mesages is in the attached screen shot.
  • They were all posted natively in FB - in the past when I used CC to post to social (and it's been awhile) I did not like how challenging it was to make edits. They also seemed to get lower rates of exposure compared to when we posted things natively. We would be willing to go back to this and accept the limitations if we were -confident- it would not be flagged.

Thanks!

Erin

Thank you very much for following up. I got this over to the teams investigating, and will respond if and when I receive any updates from them.

Thank you!

FB did restore one of our events that they took down after we requested a review but we did not get any sort of notification on the review it just became visible again. This is event link for reference:

Hello, I'm suspecting our company is having a similar issue. I will follow up with meta and see if we can get further information.

We had a post removed on May 3rd. It was an older post from Dec 2023. It did have a constant contact event registration link in the description.
