How do I know if my emails are going to spam? My open rates have dropped significantly and I'd like advice on how to improve them.
Hello @KennethH150 ,
You can find advice on improving your open rate in this article. It seems the lower open rates lately have been for some of your larger sendouts, however your overall open rate is over 3x your industry's average, which is fantastic.
With that said, if you're concerned over the recent dip in opens for your larger sendouts, you may consider reaching out to our Deliverability team. They may be able to offer more specialized insight regarding your open rates, your email content, and the domains of your non-openers.
Additionally, it looks like you may have recently signed up for our Marketing Advisor program, which will be able to greatly assist with your email content and engagement as we head into the holiday season. If you need us to send any additional information regarding that program before your onboarding call, or need us to resend the confirmation email, just let us know.
We are having some issues with open rates. We used to be in the strong double-digits or our external audience list, but over the past couple of months, we are at best 7%. It is really discouraging since this is a fundraising time of year. We are blaming it on the election, an increase of email activity, great need throughout the sector....but really curious about landing in more "junk folders" and maybe an Outlook upgrade or some new security is dampening our opens.
Hello @TammeyZ7 ,
I can definitely understand your concern on such a large drop in openings. As far as questions about landing in "junk" or spam, or if an update to a mail manager program like outlook, you can contact our Deliverability specialist and they can check for anything that might be affecting your send rates.
I found Constant Contact's "Common Things that Trigger Spam Filters" article very helpful. Here's the link: Common Things That Trigger Spam Filters (constantcontact.com)
