Good morning! One of the important first steps is to understand who your target audience is and why they would want to use your service or purchase your products. The basics of marketing are the 4 Ps...Product, Price, Promotion, & Place. Once you know whom you are targeting and why they use or purchase from you, you then want to use that information to fit into the 4 Ps. Then you want to determine your marketing budget. The marketing budget should be based on annual revenue. The percentage will depend on your industry and growth goals. This is something that I help my clients understand through the 14 plus years I've been fortunate to spend in the marketing space.
