I am very sorry to hear you are also experiencing this issue! I also appreciate you providing some feedback on your experience with the new editor. I have tracked the feedback in your account for our developers to see. If you are able I would be happy to submit additional feedback on why you want access to the HTML. What kind of tweaks are you trying to make?
As for the photo editor issue, have you tried another browser just to see if the issue replicates? I certainly don't want you to stop using your preferred browser, but it would be helpful to know if it's local to just Firefox for you. As a workaround, editing the image from the Library tab appears to work for other users.
