I have experienced the same issue while using the PHP API library. I have both libraries v1 and v2 but not sure which (or both) have the problem since I have been testing both versions. This problem occurs when submitting updated contact data but doesn't seem to manifest while adding a contact. I haven't verified if this occurs on all record updates (I've been testing with only a few records). No matter how many times I try to submit the same updated contact record, data in the last_name field is placed in the company_name field. Another problem I have while attempting to update a record (home_phone and fax fields are the only changes) is a failure message from the API, which is "The contact can not be opted in using 'ACTION_BY_OWNER'". However, the record is already an opt-in record and I have verified that it does not exist on the unsubscribe/optout list. Cheers

Has anyone been able to figure this out yet? I'm having the same exact problem. I checked in reports, activity, and anywhere else I could possible think of. In the same vein, I have a couple contacts that were also updated. I would love to find out which email address were changed and which were already unsubscribed.
I'll manually do it for now using excel, but, like CristinaS said, it's going to be time consuming.
