I see you're in Real Estate. How do you collect new clients email addresses or do you send your material to existing clients? (insert paragraph here) I know personally that once I buy a house I pretty much dig in for many years. What would be cool is to get an email every 6 months or so letting me know about local prices or important things to me as a home owner. Getting stuff more frequently than that would more than likely force me to remove my self from your mailing. (insert paragraph here) Sometimes Email is more strategic that tactical, if your method keeps your brand in the customers mind that's a good thing. I doubt you can compare the cost of using CC even in the 10,000 range to normal print advertising. You can't include attachments in your email from CC. (insert paragraph here) The closest way to do this would be to have your white papers created and stored on your website first. Then modify your "Welcome email" that new sign ups get to include links to your available white papers on your website. The new user would go to a landing page that would include a link to your PDF file. A simple solution I came up with for a client was to build a simple web form for his site that he accessed from his IPhone as a web page. I included all the fields he wanted to collect for his email list on the web form. I wrote the output of the form to an SQL database and exported it as a Excel file after his shows. BTW he really hates typing on that device, so he can also use any smart phone with a better keyboard as long as it can get web access to his site. IMHO At trade shows just get a card if you can! Phone numbers RULE. Capturing emails and typing is a waste of your time at a trade show, you need to engage your customers verbally and make an impression in person, sometimes that's the only time you'll ever have a face to face. ... As far as a time goes here's something that tends to get forgotten about. Is your list local, national or international? If you are trying to get a best time remember it really should be adjusted to local time. Its a good idea in addition to collecting names and birthdays ( the typical fields ) that you also collect zipcodes. That will allow you to segment your lists (extra work outside of CC) so you can truly take advantage of best time to send data.
