I don't know how to start a new question here so will try this.
After I take the following steps the export does not have street address line 1
Hope you can help
Hello @DavidM065 ,
When I checked the contact in your account, there was no data for that contact field at all, so when exporting it's not going to have any info to fill the applicable cell.
For instructions and visual guidance on what you're trying to do, and how the processes work:
Yeah thanks. That was a made up example of what happens and that contact was removed.
Maybe try the scenario I submitted?
I was still not able to recreate the issue, even when inserting a brand new contact. I also wasn't able to recreate the issue, even with the example address provided in your first post.
Are you sure you're selecting all the contact fields you want on the export pop-up box? What spreadsheet program are you using to view the CSV export?
Try looking at jimsmith@nomail.com.
If you export the list and open in excel and expand the columns, the address will not show.
If you then double click in the address column of that record, the street address entry will then show. Click somewhere else in the sheet. You will see that that entry is now taking up 2 lines in the sheet because of the hidden LF (LIne Feed).
Gotcha, I guess I didn't really consider it since it's how the system is setup to export. Address street fields will combine into a single address line during exports. So if you don't have anything in the Address Line 2 field, it'll be a blank line in the merged export field.
Thanks. It is not a blank line. It has the street address 1 with a Line Feed. In order to get rid of the line feed and display address 1 correctly, each row has to be edited to remove the Line Feed. In my opinion this was poor programming. Address 1 and address 2 should be separate.
Thanks.

It seems that this does not happen when importing from an Excel file but only when adding a single entry as I show above. It seems like whatever is causing this is not the export itself.
