Fix Bounced > Types > Export Contacts

Hello.

We have been unable to export specific bounce contacts by type for what seems like about a year now. I was told months ago that the developers are working on this. I know that we can export the entire bounced contact list but it's inconvenient, especially knowing that this feature used to work.

Hello @YorkEC1941 ,

When there's an update to this issue, the devs will notify you directly.

Also, that's not a Solution, so asking for it to be "Accepted" is meaningless and inappropriate.  When will this be fixed?

As you'll see in employees' responses throughout the Community, this is our standard signature, hence why I have mine set to show after my name and title which is also auto-included. You can setup signatures in your Community profile through your profile Settings > Personal > Personal Information. Text formatting requires HTML coding setups like <b><i>.

At this time we do not have an ETA on a fix for the specific issue with exporting Recommended for Removal bounces as a singular export. Please refer to my earlier response for workarounds, as well as our main article on bounce reports for how to export the RFR'd bounce types singularly.

I have the same issue and so do several of my colleagues also using Constant Contact.  I already reported it once and was told (apparently disingenously) that there were no issues, which is not the case.  Given that we are paying for sending messages that are not actually being sent because they are allegedly SUSPENDED, this issue needs to be addressed asap.  This is not a billing issue - this is charging for services not actually being provided.  Plus, given the bugs in the contact mgmt system, I will not remove the SUSPENDED contacts without being able to export them first, so I'm forced to leave the contacts in my account and pay for messages that are not actually being sent at all.  Why hasn't this been fixed yet?

I'm not sure why it's my job to figure out a workaround for this, but here it is:

Export ALL of the bounced contacts, then refine the list to only those recommended for removal and delete them.  At least the Export will show which contacts there were, even if not all of them were recommended for removal and deleted.  You'll at least have some record, as we know not all of the SUSPENDED addresses are really bad addresses due to the glitches in the Constant Contact contact mgmt system.

Suspended contacts are derived from us receiving repeated non-existent reports from the receiving end of contacts - from any of our customers sending to that address. This has nothing to do with the reporting system's current issue with being able to specifically export the Recommended for Removal categories in bulk. If you need a full overview, or at least some reminders of how the suspended bounce type works, make sure to check out our main article on the topic. You're welcome to unsuspend contacts from within your account if you believe them to no longer cause a non-existent bounce, but if we receive another report of them being non-existent right away, they'll just be suspended again. This is also why they're included among the recommended for removal contacts.

The best workaround we've suggested for customers who've had this issue tracked to their account is to export the individual bounce types covered by recommended for removal - non-existent, blocked, and suspended. The other workaround we suggest, if it's easier / better for the customer's contact management, is the one you've typed out - exporting all bounces then trimming out the non-RFR'd ones in your preferred spreadsheet program.

We generally recommend keeping copies of current contact records in general so you can backup accidental changes to your account's contacts, as well as to ensure you're able to easily pull older contacts' info if necessary. We can also do administrative exports of contacts deleted from your account (to an extent) if necessary in these circumstances.
