Remove contacts from a contact list

Suddenly, after deleting dozens of contacts without a hitch, I'm now getting the message "Error deleting contact!" Anyone know why this error message appears? How to prevent the error? Thanks!

Did you delete the contacts in another list while on a separate tab, then try deleting the same contacts in another tab? Is this happening with a single, particular contact, or is it occurring with multiple contacts when you try to delete them? Does the error occur after refreshing your page, or logging out and back in?
