changing postal address in footer

I need to change the postal address in the footer of our emails.

I have changed it in the account profile, but am not sure that will automatically change everything.

We have a number of campaigns that are set up as templates that we use regularly as our starting points for the emails. Will that footer update itself when we send a mailing? I couldn't tell from previewing it.

Thanks for any info about how to proceed with this.

I meant to explain more how we are using these "templates". We have an email set up as a campaign with basic component parts which we edit each time. So we COPY the campaign, edit the different content areas, and then prepare the email for sending to our list. It seems like the information in the footer is "hard saved" in each of these emails rather than being added to the footer using merge tags. Does this mean we need to open every file we use in this way and change them individually? Or is there a way we can force the settings to go back to the profile info?

Hello @rcppubs23,

Changing the postal code in the settings does only change the footer for brand new emails going forward. You will want to enter each existing campaign individually and update the footers. Thanks!

Hi Zoe,

I know it's a holiday but hope someone is watching the community. We just built a campaign we want to send out tonight. It was based on a previous email we had set up that we use each week.

We copied our "template" (really a campaign) and tried to correct the address in the footer but it won't allow us to change it, even though what we are changing it to is now the official address in the account. We're going to makeshift the problem for today by adding a box with the new address just above the footer, but this is really unsatisfactory if we can't use our old templates. Is there something we're doing wrong?

Hi @rcppubs23. Looking at the most recent campaign sent, I see there is a new address in the footer from your previous one. I don't want to assume it was a glitch but I made a copy and was able to change the address without any errors appearing. Do you recall what was happening when you were attempting to change it originally?

Yes, we figured out two things. One was that if we copied the campaign we use as a template and changed the footer FIRST, we could do it. But if we edited the campaign first and then tried to change the footer, we couldn't.

The second thing was that we couldn't make a small edit in a field (for instance change the PO box). We had to clear the whole field and paste in the whole new address, even if some of it didn't change.

We were really stumped when I posted the question but then we thought of a few more things to try. Thanks for responding.

Hi @rcppubs23,

I'm glad you were able to figure out a way to make it work for you. That is strange it was giving you some trouble. If you experience it again, feel free to contact our support team and someone could even screen share with you to observe the problem in real-time. It might help us narrow down a cause.
