Recommended for Removal is confusing

Please remove RECOMMENDED FOR REMOVAL as the DEFAULT category for displayed bounces. If you need a default, it should be ALL BOUNCES. It is a HUGE WASTE OF MY TIME when I have to go back to selecting ALL BOUNCES. All bounces are of concern to me, not just the ones YOU think I should be concerned about. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!! Thanks.

Thanks for all the great feedback on this topic. A lot of the feedback is from several years ago when we first rolled out our new contacts system. We've made plenty of improvements since then, and as a result we've seen feedback around this lessen. Just to close the loop around some of the original feedback, we've released a change to the reporting pages this week and the bounce report will default to "All Bounces" as opposed to the "Recommended for removal" category. Several other changes were released with this as well including the ability to edit the contact in an overlay without having to leave the report, and better explanations for bounce types on this page which we hope make managing your bounces easier.

Hi Connie, you can find your bounces by going to Email Tab > click on Reports on the yellow toolbar and click the hyperlinked bounce number for the email report you want to view. From there you can view and manage your bounces.

When I view reporting for a specific email that was sent, it shows there was 1 bounce. However, when I click on the number 1 no names, email address, or reason appears as to why it bounced.

The updates to the contact interface is terrible. You've created a ton of manual labor when troubleshooting individual contact history now that there is no centralized management. We are now forced to navigate away from the contact in question and view each email report individually that they may or may not have received.

Bethany, I can see how this would be confusing, but make sure you've selected the "View All Bounce Types" on the bounces screen. If you're looking at only one type, then it wouldn't display the others. Thanks for the feedback! We value your opinion and want to give you the features and tools you want. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any more details or feedback to give us!

your old format was an easier to digest snapshot, and removing non-existent addresses was a snap. Now that I figured out how to find them, group them, and then try to delete them, the list still remains on the page and there is no confirmation that says they were successfully removed.

Thank you for supplying your feedback to us. It is very important, and we highly value your opinion.

Here is an FAQ that will walk you through viewing bounces by category: https://knowledgebase.constantcontact.com/articles/KnowledgeBase/5288-understanding-managing-and-rem...

When a bounce is removed from the list, it will remain shown on the bounce report, for historical record keeping. Any contact that have since been removed from the account after bouncing, would show their email address with a line crossing through the middle of the address. Any crossed out email you see like those, represents that the contact was taken out prior to being recorded on the report you are viewing.

Please continue to vote for the changes that you want to see made in the account. And as always, don't hesitate to let us know any time you have questions, more information, or any feedback to give us!

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with some feedback about the new Contacts page Kathy!  I believe you may be looking at only one category of bounces, if you change the Display in the top right to "All Bounce Types" you should see all 3.

Hi Max,

Thank you for supplying your feedback to us. It is very important, and we highly value your opinion.

Currently when viewing your bounces, you will first see a category within the bounce report called "Recommended for Removal". These are a portion of all of your bounces, that the system has been able to identify that are better to remove than others. You can easily switch between the different bounce types, using the "Display" drop down in the upper right corner of the table. Here is also an FAQ that will show a screen shot of the drop down, and how you can switch that to display what you would like: https://knowledgebase.constantcontact.com/articles/KnowledgeBase/5288-understanding-managing-and-rem...

We will take a closer look at that process and see what can be done to call more attention to that fact that you first are seeing the "recommended for removal" category. Please don't hesitate to let us know any time you have questions, more information, or any feedback to give us! Don't forget, you can call our support team seven days a week at 866-289-2101.
