Can you please add a way where we can enter contacts' birthdays and have a birthday email automatically go out to them on their birthdays? Or at least create a way where we can send out birthday messages simply without having to create a custom list for each day?
Creating a birthday list has become very hard since the website update and I am not sure how to do it anymore if you could please be of some assistance that would be great Thanks, Bill
Please please please add a birthday or special day feature so that we can input special days and they are automatically sent to clients. This is very important otherwise I will cancel my membership.
Thank you.
So here's how I did it, and it worked out pretty well. What I wanted to do was to send out birthday emails every week to customers who have a birthday within that week. I had a DOB field for my contacts, but apparently you can't search/ select from this field because it is a 'date' field, not a 'text' field. SUPER MEGA annoying btw! So here's what I did. Export your contacts to an excel file. Open that up and add three fields next to your DOB field. I named mine, "Birth Day", "Birth Month", and "Birth Year". This next part is a little tricky. Under "Birth Day", type =text(F2,"D"). Where F2 is the original DOB field. You want to pull from that DOB field and just get one number, the D (day) field. Same thing goes for month and year. Type =text(F2,"M") and =text(F2,"YYYY"). That will get your three separate fields. Now on constant contact, go to my settings and under contact settings click on manage my custom fields. Add the three fields, birth day, month, and year. This way you can use the advanced search feature to search for whatever day/month/year you need. Now you can upload your new list to constant contact. Making sure to match up the fields correctly. And just before you upload them you might want to click the button that says you just want to update contacts, not to add any new ones. The only problem I ran into was the limited file size when uploading. I guess it's 1.3MB for .csv. I had to break my list up into two parts to get it done. But now when I want to send a birthday email, I just advance search whatever month/day/year I'm looking for, tag them (you might have to do each day separately), and then send the email to the tags. So ya, it takes a little bit of work, but a lot less work for me than what I was doing. Hopefully this helped in any way.

Birthday feature is a major issue with our online business, headache to work-around CC not having the feature. When/if we switch email marketing providers the birthday feature will be a top three reason. At least add a birthday field to customer signup, standardize the search for us, and yes already have a custom field but their are several ways a customer can enter their birthday - Apr-1, Apr, 1, Apr 1, 4/1, 4-1 - headache.
I understand that the birthday feature with Constant Cotnact can be a little troublesome as it is now. I'm sorry about that. We are always working on improving things. If you could please leave your feedback in our Contact Management and Reporting Feedback area I think that this idea would be very popular. I know that other customers have wanted to see this functionality as well.
Also, I know this is not a solution, but you could make your Custom Field, Birthday - Please enter 00/00/0000: That way customers will see that's how it should be being entered. That might be a temporary work around until this feature hopefully gets added. However, I definitely suggest you leave your feedback.
