Can no longer rename sent emails ("campaigns") ???

So now (unless I'm missing something I've spent 15 minutes looking for on the site and in the forums) it is no longer possible to rename sent email campaigns? Why would developers remove something so useful and widely used ???

And how do we get to the next generation editor?  I have 2 separate accounts and I don't have the option to edit a sent email subject line in either account.

Thought I'd update this since Constant Contact hasn't returned to do so in SIX MONTHS!

I chatted with support... you have to specifically ask them to enable the next generation editor in your account.

Once they have done so, it will ONLY be available for NEW campaigns... your old ones will not change (including the ability to rename sent campaigns)

Even though Ariana_L has marked this as closed, internally they are beta testing the campaign renaming feature and it is only available to a select few testers.  Clearly it should  NOT have been marked as implemented yet!  So even if you do upgrade to the next generation editor, you won't get the ability to rename campaigns back yet.

Thanks David for the response - I found this out too - however when you get moved to the Next Generation Editor that disables the ability to edit the HTML code.  I design all my newsletters (I send about 100 per month) strictly by using the HTML code.   I NEVER use the front end editor.  Its entirely too clunky and most of the time doesn't do what I want it to.  So moving to the next-gen editor is not an option for me.

Thank you for the feedback @DavidH729,

The rename feature is available for all emails that have been sent through the next generation editor.  I apologize if someone gave you misinformation-- but this is not in beta, it is for all new campaigns sent through the new editor.

@kinetica - Are you creating your emails using code from scratch?  Or are you using the editor, and then using the code view to make tweaks?

HI @Patrick_W I appreciate your quick response.  I'm going into the html editor in each newsletter and changing out info, adding new and adding html coding to that its the layout is the way I want it.

I've tried on repeated occasions to use the front end and there are always extra spaces added, or say I want to remove an image that I placed and decided I didn't want.  It won't delete at all unless I go into the editor to delete it.   I also have the need to highlight lines of text with different color backgrounds.  I use html editor for that.  I also create tables of content in my Dreamweaver and then paste it into the html editor.

We've been using your software for 15 years and have published 3800 email newsletters. Bottom line is your front end is way to clunky and buggie for me to get everything I need to do accomplished.  Having access to the html editor is a must for our business.

I use your templates...I don't design them from scratch.   Hope this response helps.

Also, I have 2 accounts...this is my main account and the other is a smaller account.

Thanks for the additional insight @kinetica,

Your feedback makes total sense.  There are definitely some buggy things that can happen in our editor-- especially in the instance where campaigns are being copied over from older ones.

Our goal is to try to address many of these spacing, font formatting issues, etc. in our next generation editor so that customers won't have to get into the code to fix things.  That being said it sounds like having the option to jump into the code to make tweaks is something you are looking for in the new editor, which is something we need to keep in mind.

I appreciate your feedback and am happy to share it with our Product Team.  Thanks again!

Thanks @Patrick_W

I'll be honest, I want nothing to do with your next gen editor unless I have the ability to access the html code for the entire newsletter.  If I'm forced to the next gen editor and don't have an html editor available I'll have to move my business elsewhere. That would include both accounts, one of which we've had with you for 15 years. Losing access to the html editor is a deal breaker for us.

Thanks much!

Good Morning!  I see it's not likely to happen . . . but I would also really like to be able to RE-NAME SENT EMAILS as well. Over time, trends emerge and we develop naming conventions we didn't think of in the beginning. When you have a lot of campaigns, it makes it helpful to see them grouped alphabetically by name.
