What are the best analytics for me to track, preferably for my website and social media?

What analytics you track will be largely tied to how you bring in new business. Here are some of the more common:

  • Direct traffic refers to people who type your URL directly into a browser or follow a link to your website from another source.
  • Organic traffic, on the other hand, refers to someone who uses Google (or another search engine) to search for a term or a concept and finds your website in the results.
  • Referral traffic reflects traffic from other websites that link back to yours.
  • Social media traffic is, of course, traffic that comes to you from other social media sites. Regularly tracking this can help you make strategic decisions about which sites to have an active presence or where to run paid campaigns.

How can you add a blog to your website if you don't already have one automatically set up on your site?

If you're asking from a technical perspective, it's a matter of adding the page to your CMS (Content Management System), if this is available. Check with your website hosting service.

Should we provide links to our YouTube videos or channel to advertise our services?

Absolutely! Youtube videos are great to link to share via email, social and even add to your website. Selling your services is great but it's always a good idea to make them educational as well to sell your product.

Do you have something that I can review on my own time, like a printout? The webinar was great but I like to have other types of resources too.

Of course. Download our free Making Sense of Online Marketing for Technology Services guide.
