Export Survey Results for respondent in a Row instead of Stacked

I would add to my list of unacceptable changes to the Survey functionality is the exporting.  In the Legacy Survey, there were choices on how to export the data.  When choosing Export all to CSV file, the data was organized by respondent, and had all responses to each question on one row in the spreadsheet.

The Export all Results (the only export option) from the current survey is virtually worthless, as the responses are scattered on different rows.  See example below (names and email addresses intentionally deleted):

Hi all. There were a few requests here with how survey page results are displayed after exporting. Please view the attached article that shows examples of survey reporting so you can select the appropriate export for your needs.

We made changes to survey exports. When exporting all responses to CSV, the results display in the format shown below so you can easily see how a contact answered your survey questions, including their comments. Does this layout help to review your survey results in a more effective manner? If you are looking for an additional display of survey results, a visual could help so we can best understand what would most help you.

Creating a survey in Constant Contact is easy. However, the formatting of the .csv file that can be downloaded from Constant Contact and summarizes the survey responses needs to be improved. Currently, all of the respondent's responses to survey question 1 are in cells B2, B3, B4, etc. Instead, row 1 should contain the column headers, row two should have all the responses for responder #1, row three in the .csv should have all the responses for responder #2 and so forth. Our company didn't use Constant Contact's survey because of this and used different survey software that puts each respondent's responses in a row in the .csv file. Perhaps provide two formatting options for the .csv file: one option to summarize responses as is being used currently and introduce a new option that formats the .csv as detailed above (each row contains all the responses for each respondent).

In the new survey experience there is only one option to export the survey responses. I am used to the legacy survey experience where there are a few different options to export. I always choose the "Raw data .csv - individual responses" option as it organizes the information into columns that work with my internal tracking sheet. The new export is not ideal, especially if you have a survey with a large number of responses. Please consider bringing back the raw data option.

I agree with everything that was said above.  The "new" reporting abilities are much less functional than it was in legacy.  Its going to take a lot of time on my end just to process the data.

I do not like the way the new survey tool exports. I like the format of the previous surveys where the questions ran across the top of the page with one column for each question and responses were listed below in that column. In this new format, the questions are listed all separately down the column and then there are multiple columns with the answers. It's not an easy format to try to tally up and run opposite almost all of our other spreadsheets. So, now I have to pivot the data and hope I don't screw anything up while changing the latyout.

Agree, no one would ever use survey data as it is currently exported. The survey data export function is not useful. The default data export should be by respondent, not by individual question. The current data export is an inefficient way to export the data and is fairly useless for anyone who wants to do additional analysis outside of the platform. For example, if I have a survey with 5 questions I would each row to be an individual response, with 5 columns for data entered for each question.

The new way of exporting results isn't useful. You can't download individual responses (all of the answers from one respondent) and when you download all the responses, it put the questions in rows instead of at the top of a column with each row being an individual person's set of responses to each of the questions. Are you going to provide the old ways of downloading the results? They were so much more helpful.

Casting another vote for the need for the old ways of exporting data. The way it is done in the Legacy version is very useful, but not so much now. I agree with Colleen_Leppert: If we have to manipulate the data to get it into a usable format, there's a possibility of information getting misaligned. Please bring back the old way of exporting data.

The reporting in the new survey format is terrible. There is no option to format it to excel and no options in creating the report. It will double our work in creating a report. We have invested hundreds of dollars creating the surveys in the old format and now we are forced to spend more money recreating them in the new format. Who thought it was a good idea not to include a way to merge the old with the new? Very disappointed.
