Make it easier to Resubscribe contacts we have Unsubscribed

We did a Segment report of contacts who haven't opened an email in 2 years. So we unsubscribed 1,500 of them.. But digging deeper we checked some of the addresses for engagement, and found many had actually Opened older emails recently or even within past year. We chatted with customer service who told us it was a glitch with CC reporting! But now CC has said we can't resubscribe them as a list and have to individually and manually resubscribe the ones who did open emails. These contacts Did NOT opt-out, we Unsubscribed them due to mistake CC did in segment reporting.

 

Going forward, we would like CC to make it easier to just upload the addresses again of those who WE Unsubscribed that didn't opt out on their own. It is too confusing to our customers to have to resubscribe due to no fault of their own and many would just ignore signing up again.

Thanks for sharing this feedback with us. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our re-subscribe process and have tracked this feedback with the appropriate teams on your behalf. You are correct, at this time there is no way to re-subscribe contacts in bulk. Users will either need to send the re-subscribe email to the contact through the re-subscribe process or have the contact sign up once more through a sign up form. In the meantime we will continue collecting requests and use case scenarios through this post.

CC also needs to make it easier for us to re-subscribe a contact that we ourselves unsubscribed. It is hard to get a contact back on our list as they ignore the re-subscribe email CC sends to them as they assume they are already still on our mailing list!

In the process of cleaning up our contact database we accidentally unsubscribed a user. I find it absolutely incredible that the only way to added them back is to inconvenience the user and force them to resubmit another subscription authorization. I could understand the need for a user to resub if they intentionally unsubscribe but if we make the mistake, the software should recognize the difference and allow the us to resub the user without the need for reauthorization. It is tough enough to get subs and this software limitation actually hurts. This might be a gamechanger to switch platforms.
