Mysterious Unsubscribing

Hello,

Our church uses Constant Contact and for the most part it has been great.  We have had issues though with Constant Contact unsubscribing people.   Two of these mysterious unsubscribers were my father and myself!  Neither of us unsubscribed and yet, there we were in the unsubscribe list.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Cindy

Hi @CindyI82,

My immediate guess is that your father and you might have forwarded the live version of the email you received to your inbox, to someone else and they for whatever reason unsubscribed. But, because the email was originally sent to you it would be your email address in the unsubscribe field. Any chance you've forwarded an email sent through Constant Contact from your own inbox recently?

Hi Nick_s

The last email that I received was just last Sunday and I was not feeling well.  I absolutely did not forward the email to anyone.  I slept most of the day!  I cleared out my inbox like I always do in such circumstances and clicked on all the emails and then moved them to my old mail folder.  That was it.  Yet, for some reason, Constant Contact unsubscribed

me.  I didn't even open the last email!

Now I do very often get weird messages when I try to forward from my Gmail address to my CompuServe address.  My email address is said to not be found.  I have also received plenty of spam supposedly from my own email address!

I'm wondering what Constant Contact would do if  this happened?  If CompuServe sent back a mailing claiming that my address was not found?  Might it automatically unsubscribe me?

Thanks

Cindy

Thanks for the quick follow-up. After some additional digging, I don't know for sure I can confirm what is causing it, but we seem to be tracking something that sounds very similar. Could you send an email to social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com with your username, the two email addresses (or any others) affected, and a reference to this post? I can take a closer look and possibly escalate to my advanced support team, if need be.
