Constant Contact and Shopify - Adding User Tags to Shopify via email

Hi there,

We have a Shopify storefront, and we use Constant Contact for our email marketing. We are looking at migrating some data, and would like to see who in our user base would like to remain after the migration. We were thinking about using Constant Contact to send an email to our user base, and have them OPT IN or OPT OUT via a button click in the email. Depending on which button they click, that would tag their user account in Constant Contact. We were wondering if that information can be sent back to Shopify as well? So that when you view their user account on in the Shopify admin, you will see the tag there based on whichever button they clicked? I've been Googling, trying to find this answer, but to no specific avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Hi @AdamW8968 ,

Great question! After clarifying with my technical team, the "tags" are not included in the two way sync between Constant Contact and Shopify, so any tags would need to be added manually to both ends. We do have an open feature request regarding importing tags via the Shopify integration, however, so I will go ahead and pass that along to our engineering team. They will reach back out to you if that is a feature offered via the integration going forward.

Thank you, Amanda! This is helpful. I appreciate the insight, and look forward to seeing if this gets implemented in the future - it would be a great feature.

Cheers
