Deleted Contacts

Can you please consider permanently deleting contacts from subscribers list so the number of contacts accurately reflects active contacts only.  Why keep count of all contacts?  It is confusing at a glance and serves no purpose.

Hello @HarlemO ,

Many customers prefer to store all contacts, even those that are inactive (unbillable contacts such as unsubscribed, temporary hold permission, etc.), so they can maintain records in our system rather than on their own devices. It also helps them keep an eye on contacts that previously unsubscribed from them, to try and re-add them if they're asked to by the contact, as well as keep track of inactive contacts' previous actions in a single page rather than across multiple emails' reports. It's also why we maintain total contacts based on current view as a separate element from the total subscribed contacts at the top of the main contacts page.

If you do not want to keep inactive contacts within your account, you can easily sort them out and delete them from within the Contacts page.

For info on what constitutes active vs inactive contacts, I'd recommend following along with this article. For guidance on deleting contacts from your account, I'd recommend this article
