Email text is not visible when mobile phone is on dark mode

I have seen that other users have reported saying that if a recipients mobile phone is set to dark mode, it alters the text of an email. campaign. However, our company recently had an email campaign sent out and when I viewed it on my mobile phone I found that none of the text in the email was visible, only the headers/images. Nothing was altered except for the text. Is this due to me having the font color set as gray rather than black or white?

Most likely. Each email program/app has their own little way of handling dark mode, and it can unfortunately be kind of a guessing game. The only way to really avoid this is to use as neutral and contrasted of coloring as possible (e.g. white letters with black background) between the text and backgrounds. Grays tend to be left alone, which can ironically lead to issues if the background gets converted to a dark color like black.
