Dividing a long list of lists

We send out email campaigns to two categories of lists:

Adult

Youth

Is there a way to split our long list of contacts into Adult and Youth so we don't have to deselect the lists we don't want to include each time? Every Youth list begins with "ys." Right now, our lists are alphabetical, with all the ys lists at the end. But we still need to deselect them in order to send out an Adult-only email.

Thank you.

Hello Judith06870 ,

If you wish to only use lists, then you'll have to stick with either selecting the lists you want to specifically send to, or select-all and then deselect the specific lists you don't want to send to.

The quickest way to accomplish what you're looking to do will require some setup. You'll be tagging your contacts as either Youth or Adult. That way when you're scheduling your emails, you can set a simple tag filter to exclude the tagged contacts you don't want to send to, or only send to contacts with a specific tag.

Another option is to create segments to explicitly exclude tags or list membership, and send your emails to that segment when you want to avoid contacts that meet those criteria.
