We have organizations that send out multiple newsletters. We've added our newsletters to the Update Profile page and that works fine, but when a user hits "unsubscribe" instead of "update profile" they are taken to a page which by default selects ALL newsletters to unsubscribe from.
A better behavior to keep readers from accidentally unsubscribing would be to a.) have no buttons selected by default and b.) put the "unsubscribe me from all" option beneath the other options. Is there a way to customize the look of the unsubscribe page to accommodate this?
How to customize the unsubscribe page?
Hello Bob Rose ,
The Update Profile form, if active, already provides this functionality on the unsubscribe page. Using the Update Profile system, if you've made multiple list options available,Β those options will also appear on the unsubscription confirmation page, as an alternative for contacts that click the unsub link in the footer.
Remember that not all lists need to be included in the UP / unsub setup. Contacts will only be able to manipulate their list membership for the ones you've explicitly selected to be available, viewable options. Contacts will simply see those available lists' names on the UP form / unsub confirmation page, and be able to decide if they'd prefer one of those.
If a contact uses an alternative method of unsubscribing - i.e. the one-click header options or mass-unsubscribe functions available in some email programs - then that won't redirect the contact. Unfortunately, in order to comply with industry regulations and respect contacts' permissions, these particular methods have to be full unsubscribes.
