Hyperlinks do not work for some or lag

We've seen an issue where hyperlinks to websites in a Constant Contact email work for some people and load in the usual 2-3 seconds, but the same links are very laggy for others - taking as long as 25 seconds to load or not loading at all. Is there any setting on Constant Contact that would help with this or is it an inconsistency between different computers/OS systems?

If it's inconsistent among your users, then it indicates something on their specific devices or networks that's conflicting with the webpages. In the end, it comes down to basic connectivity troubleshooting. This could go beyond their internet/data speeds, as there's several factors that can affect connectivity.

As an anecdote, I regularly encounter situations like this with my personal VPN when it's set to certain servers. Sometimes it's just a matter of temporarily turning off my VPN, or switching server locations to a more established IP.

For your users, it's possible that:

  • their systems aren't playing nice with the Cloudflare anti-bot tools we employ

  • they have something preventing necessary cookies

  • an ad/pop-up blocker, VPN, or browser extenstion on their end conflicts with the webpage's elements
