i need to make a new email list

I would start by thinking about what you want to name each list that makes sense to you. How are you segmenting out these groups of people?

I like to use sign-up forms and embed them on my website so subscribers can segment themselves! For this, I name these lists something that would make sense to the subscriber. An example would be the Business Sign Up list that i have for my online local calendar. You can see how I did that here: https://stxcalendar.com/sign-up-your-business/ - I used an "inline form" and then chose multiple lists that I had created that allow the subscriber to automatically categorize themselves. Then, I can send them emails that more specifically align with their needs.

If you already have contact information and emails for your different groups, you can upload them to the lists that you create. And don't forget that someone can be subscribed to multiple lists.

Creating segments and tagging contacts is also really helpful too.
