Insert dynamic links in an email

I used the exact variables that are listed in this knowledgebase for the links in my most recent campaign and none of the variables actually populated in the email that was deployed. These were in the links and were supposed to pass to the forms but all that came back is the text for the merge code. Not the values.

Please advise if this is still supported for links?
