Problems with DL and PDF format

I am constantly frustrated trying to download a campaign email as a pdf. Almost always get an error message. When I finally am able to dl, the formatting (photos with captions) is a mess. Any ideas? (I already have tried changing size to 90% or other percentage reductions. Not effective.) When I convert the pdf to a Word file, it's almost impossible to correct the formatting errors. I'm ready to switch to another platform. Thank you.
