Hi AngelaJ0320,

Updating your domain and authenticating it is a two-part process.

1: Update and Verify Your Email Address

Before you can authenticate a new domain, you must verify an email address associated with it.

  1. Click your Profile Name in the top-right and select Settings.

  2. Go to the Account emails tab.

  3. Click Add email address and enter the new address from your updated domain.

  4. Check your inbox for the verification email and click the Verify Email button.

Set Up Self-Authentication (DKIM)

Once verified, you need to generate the records that tell mailbox providers your domain is authorized.

  1. In Settings, click the Advanced settings tab.

  2. Click Add self-authentication.

  3. Select "Self-authenticate using DKIM CNAME records" (this is the simplest and recommended method).

  4. Choose your new domain from the drop-down menu and click Continue.

  5. Copy the records: Constant Contact will provide CNAME and DMARC records. Copy these values.

3: Update Your DNS Records

You must add the copied records to your domain host's website (e.g., GoDaddy, Wix, Bluehost).

  • Log into your domain host and locate your DNS Management or DNS Settings.

  • Create new records using the Host names and Values provided by Constant Contact.

  • Important: Ensure you also publish the DMARC policy record provided, as it is required for modern email standards.

4: Finalize and Activate

  • Wait for Propagation: It can take 24 to 48 hours for DNS changes to update globally.

  • Activate: After waiting, return to Settings > Advanced settings in Constant Contact and click Check status or Activate. Once it shows "Activated," your domain is fully authenticated.
