How to recover a deleted campaign

We've all had that moment of panic—you’re cleaning up your account, clicking a little too fast, and suddenly realize you just deleted the wrong marketing campaign. Take a deep breath! If you've accidentally deleted an email or campaign in Constant Contact, don't worry. It is actually incredibly easy to bring it back from the digital graveyard.

Here is a quick breakdown of how to get things back to normal, along with a few tips for keeping your campaigns organized once they are restored.

Finding and Restoring Your Campaign

Your deleted campaigns aren't gone forever; they just get moved to a hidden "Deleted" view. You can restore a deleted campaign in just a few clicks:

  • Navigate to your list: First, head over to the Campaigns tab in your account to view your full campaign list.

  • Filter by Status: Click on the "Status" filter drop-down and choose "Deleted." This will instantly pull up a list of everything you've recently tossed in the trash.

  • Bring it back: Find the specific campaign you need to recover and simply click the Restore button next to it.

Managing Your Restored Campaign

Once you hit restore, your campaign is back in action! From here, you can continue editing a draft, make a copy of it, or view the reporting stats if it was a campaign you had already sent out.

  • Filing it away: By default, your newly restored campaign might show up as "Unfiled." To keep your account tidy, we highly recommend organizing your campaigns into folders. Just use the Folders drop-down to tuck your restored campaign safely into a specific folder or sub-folder.

  • A quick folder tip: A common question we get in the community is: "Once I've moved a campaign to a folder, does it disappear from the All Campaigns screen?" The answer is no! The "All Campaigns" view acts as your master list. Sorting a campaign into a folder simply adds an organizational tag to it to make it easier to find later; it doesn't hide it from your main dashboard.
