Mastering Email Management

When you’re just starting out, it’s easy to find your emails in your Constant Contact account. But as you grow and your sent emails build up to multiple pages, finding that one specific draft can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack!

The good news is that we have a toolbox of organizational features that grow with you. You can find all of these tools by clicking the Campaigns icon in your left-hand sidebar.

The Campaigns Dashboard: Your First Gear

The very first tool in your belt is the All campaigns view on your dashboard. Here, you can see every email, social post, survey, and landing page you’ve ever created.

  • Filters: Use the dropdowns to narrow your view by Type or Status (Draft, Sent, Scheduled).

  • The Search Bar: This is a precision tool! Note that it looks for exact matches. For example, searching for "Workshops" will find your workshop emails, but searching for "Workshop" (singular) won't. If you don't see results, double-check your spelling!

The Email Dashboard: Focusing Your View

As you start to experiment with different channels, the Email dashboard comes in handy. It filters out everything else so you can focus solely on your messages. It features the same status and sorting filters you’re already used to, keeping things simple.

Folders & Sub-folders: The Ultimate Organizer

Folders are the best way to group related campaigns together. In 2026, they are more powerful than ever:

  • Three Levels of Organization: You can create up to 500 folders, and each one can now have two levels of sub-folders nested inside. Think: Holidays > Winter > New Year’s Eve.

  • Flexibility: Name them whatever makes sense for your business—by date, product line, or target audience. Adding an email to a folder takes just a couple of clicks, and it makes finding your "Black Friday 2025" email a breeze next year.

Calendar View: Planning Ahead

If you prefer a visual approach, the Calendar tab is the tool for you. You can see exactly what you’ve sent and what is coming up. You can even click a specific date on the calendar to start a new draft right then and there, helping you plan your month in advance.

The Channel Manager: Your Power Tool

Finally, let's look at the Channel Manager (formerly the Multi-channel tab). This is your command center for coordinated campaigns. It allows you to plan and create different aspects of your marketing—like an email and its supporting social posts—on one unified timeline. You can expand these campaigns to see the inner workings or collapse them for a high-level view of your strategy.

Now that you have your toolbox ready, which tool are you going to try first? Let us know how your new organizational system is working out!
