Diving Into Automations

This weekend, a client of mine had a snafu with a printed flier at a Scuba Diving Travel Show, which left her in a panic.

The Problem:

My client's staff opened the booth at a Scuba Diving Travel Show when she realized her staff had brought an old flier. The QR code on it pointed to the wrong landing page, and the contest sign-up wasn't working. People were already walking up to the booth.

The Solution:

Because we had done the upfront work to build her system correctly, I was able to pivot in real time. I edited and reactivated the landing page the flier's QR code pointed to, swapped the sign-up form to pull into her targeted Scuba Show list for that date, and since the automation for that list was already in place, everything ran from there without a hitch. She left that show with 81 new subscribers.

The Benefit:

This client attends 9 Scuba and Travel Shows a year, plus DEMA. Before we set up her system, she was manually adding email addresses and sending follow-up emails hit or miss. Since last fall, she has collected 724 opt-in subscribers from these shows alone.

Every single one landed in a welcome and nurture automation that keeps her dive shop top of mind without her having to manage it manually.

We also built a second funnel for cruise ship passengers who dive with her. During their trip, a staff member photographs the dives. Guests scan a QR code on a flier onboard to sign up and receive their photos via a daily DropBox folder. They get their pictures AND get added to her list for future trip marketing.

She even filled a last-minute dive trip cancellation that included accommodations because her email list was warm and ready to go.

None of this would have been possible without the automation and landing page tools inside Constant Contact. Having everything connected in one place is what made the real-time pivot possible and what keeps her list growing show after show.
