The Fun Facts Post That Helps You Stand Out From Your Competition

You know what I tell my clients to do every single month? Post a quick intro that includes three fun facts about themselves that have nothing to do with their business.

Here's why it works: people buy from people they like and relate to. When someone's choosing between you and your competitor, that fun fact about your rescue dog or your obsession with true crime podcasts might be the thing that tips the scale in your favor.

It doesn't have to be complicated. Just a short boilerplate about your business (two or three sentences max), then three personal tidbits that give people a peek at who you are outside of work.

Here's my recommendation: create 4 or 5 versions of this post and pair each one with a different photo: a selfie, a professional headshot, a candid shot. It doesn't matter as long as people get to see your face. Then rotate through them month to month. Here's an example of this in action.

Bonus tip: Use Constant Contact's social media scheduler to set these up as recurring monthly posts. Write them once, schedule them to rotate, and you're done.

What's one fun fact about you that has nothing to do with your business? Drop it in the comments; I'd love to get to know you better! And if you're not sure how to work this into your social strategy, let's talk! I'm happy to help you figure it out.
