Remove Existing Link When Replacing Image in Email

0 Votes

When photos are "replaced" rather than "deleted" and then a new one added, if a link was attached to the original, it STAYS with the replaced photo. Not a good feature. An old link with an updated photo is a bad practice!

Hi @JaneB1219 at this time images do not have the ability to be replaced, only document files have this ability. With that said, if a document is updated through the replace file option it will also update through the URL attached to it. Are you looking to break the URL once the document has been updated? What are some cases where uploading this replaced PDF image as a separate file does not fit your needs instead?

I believe this is for replacing a photo in the email editor, rather than replacing a document in the Library. When using the Replace option within the email editor, the existing link will remain by design. The link icon background should be changed to give a visual indication that the image is still linked. This is working as designed currently, but please feel free to add comments below with some use cases to change this behavior.

At this time, the ability to remove links when replacing an image is not on our roadmap to be included in a future update. If we have additional news to share, it will be posted here.
