After selecting the date and time to resend an email, and hitting confirm, a confirmation pops-up. I suggest changing the “Send” button to “Schedule.”
“Send” implies the email will be sent soon as you click ”Send,” when it actually means it will be sent on the date and time you’ve specified.

In that case, I think I'm a bit confused on what the request is for. If you're sending the initial email right away, it’ll ask you to confirm that you want to send it right away. If you're scheduling the email ahead of time, it'll confirm you're wishing to schedule the email. The RSNO isn't the one asking to be sent right away, it's the initial email altogether.
When setting up the automated RSNO, it has a blue Confirm, not a "send" button. For example:
Are you able to confirm that the wording of the "Send" vs "Schedule" changes on your end, based on what you select for the initial email sendout?

Is this regarding setting up resends-to-non-openers after the email has already sent out, when setting up the automated RSNO when scheduling the email, or regarding some other resend option?

No wonder you were confused!
In the past the Confirm button in lower right of “Resend to Non-Opener settings” said Send, rather than Confirm as it does now.
That was confusing because I wasn’t sending the resend yet; just confirming the resend for the future.
Perhaps someone read my original post and made a change before you saw it? Or maybe a change was already in the works to go live after the new year.
In any case, the issue is now solved. The Confirm button is very clear. Thanks for responding!
