Unable to add an email to my contact list

Hello, I have a member not appearing on my contact list.  When I try to add her, I receive an "Awaiting Confirmation" message, however she is not appearing under the Awaiting Confirmation section in Contact Status.  She has been a member for several years and has never received our emails.  How can correct this problem?
