The Rochester International Jazz Festival, in partnership with Rochester Regional Health, is one of the world’s leading jazz festivals and a premier Rochester live music festival. Every June, the joy of music brings the world to Rochester, NY, for an unforgettable celebration of sound — from legendary performers to familiar favorites, rising stars, and exciting new discoveries.

This multi-dimensional nine-day event presents more than 1,750 artists from across the globe in over 285 shows at 18 vibrant venues in Downtown Rochester, NY.  Visitors can explore all genres of creative, improvised music during this acclaimed Rochester Jazz Festival, including free jazz shows in Rochester that make world-class music accessible to everyone.

Our European-style format lets guests park once and easily walk between venues, enjoying the unique atmosphere of Rochester jazz concerts throughout the city. Each year, the Rochester Jazz lineup features an exciting mix of talent and styles, celebrating the only truly American art form—jazz.

Founded in 2002, RIJF is produced by RIJF, LLC, a privately held company owned by Marc Iacona (Producer and Executive Director) and John Nugent (Producer and Artistic Director). Attendance has grown from 15,000 in 2002 to over 200,000 in 2024, generating more than $220 million in economic impact for the region.

Looking ahead to our 23rd edition in 2026, the festival continues its legacy of celebrating music, community, and creativity as one of New York’s premier summer jazz events.
