Campaign vs. E-mail

I'm just getting started with Constant Contact and I'm trying to understand the terminology but I'm not finding what I need in the videos or database. By my definition I would like to create an e-mail campaign which I see as a series of e-mails that are triggered by time.

In Constant Contact I have created a final draft of a campaign/e-mail. My question is, how do I add additional e-mails to that campaign and then schedule them series?

Another way to explain what I have in mind is that each campaign is a "folder" that contains the series of e-mails that I want to send in that campaign, but I don't know if that is the way Constant Contact is set up.

Are campaigns and e-mails the same thing in Constant Contact? When I look at the Campaign tab and the Channels-E-mails tab they display the same thing. My concern is that I wind up creating a bunch of different campaigns when I actually want to create a series of e-mails.

I hope I've been clear in my question/explanation.

Thanx.

Hello ArthurW614 ,

"Campaign" is a general term to refer to emails, events, survey pages, landing pages, automation paths, and more. What you're describing sounds like what we'd refer to as an "automated series" or "automation path."

If you're wanting to create a series of emails based on specific triggers (e.g. sign-up form submissions, list additions, online store purchases, etc.), I'd recommend following along with this article to get started. Keep in mind that the subscription plans of Lite, Standard, and Premium have differing levels of complexity and customization for automation paths available. See our pricing page for more info.
