Hi everyone,
Thank you for your candid feedback and for being a loyal customer! We completely understand the frustration of seeing your campaigns blocked by strict corporate firewalls (especially in B2B environments like universities, hospitals, or large nonprofits).
While offering Dedicated IPs for standard accounts remains Not Currently Planned, we want to provide transparency on why this isn't offered, and why a Dedicated IP can actually severely damage your deliverability if not used correctly.
To maintain a good sender reputation with inbox providers (like Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace), an IP address must continuously send a massive, consistent volume of emails (typically 100,000+ emails every single week).
If a Dedicated IP does not maintain this massive daily volume, it goes "cold." When corporate firewalls see a sudden blast of emails coming from a cold or low-volume IP, they immediately flag it as suspicious and block it. By using Constant Contact's Shared IP Pools, your emails benefit from the aggregated, continuous high-volume sending of our entire network, ensuring the IPs remain warm and trusted by global inbox providers.
The Modern Solution: Domain Reputation In the modern email landscape, strict corporate firewalls care much less about the sending IP Address and much more about the sending Domain.
While you mentioned that self-authentication is non-viable for your current setup, it is truly the industry-standard solution for bypassing strict B2B firewalls. By setting up Self-Authentication (DKIM, SPF, and DMARC), you are digitally signing your emails with your own domain name. This tells the receiving firewall: "Do not judge this email by the Constant Contact shared server it was routed through; judge it by our organization's trusted, verified domain."
Because our shared-IP architecture is specifically designed to protect the deliverability of small-to-medium volume senders, we are going to keep this idea marked as Not Currently Planned. However, we highly encourage working with your IT department to implement Self-Authentication, as it is the most powerful tool available for B2B deliverability.
Thank you again for sharing your workflow with us!
