Edit SMS sign up verbiage on the form

Hello,

It would be super useful if on the sign-up form under the text message consent where it says, "You agree to receive automated promotional messages from Healthcare Associates of Texas..." if this section could also include the language, "Message and data rates may apply."

Alternatively, if there was any way to add additional language to this section, that would be very helpful. I work in a highly regulated industry, and from a compliance perspective, there is more that my compliance team would like to add to this section. They would also like to include, "Text messaging is not a secure method of communication and caries some risk of being read by a third party.

So, overall, if the text message consent had the option to add language to it, that would be incredibly helpful.

Thank you,

Alysen

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your ongoing feedback and for sharing your specific use cases! We completely understand how frustrating it is when the sign-up form forces language about "cart reminders" or "promotional offers" when you are a Homeowner's Association sending emergency alerts, or a Healthcare provider sending critical updates. It can definitely be confusing for your audience.

While giving users the ability to edit or customize the SMS opt-in verbiage remains Acknowledged, we want to clearly explain why this text is currently locked: Strict Legal Compliance.

The Reason: TCPA and CTIA Guidelines Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the strict guidelines enforced by cellular carriers (CTIA), SMS marketing is heavily regulated. Constant Contact’s SMS feature is currently built and registered universally as a Promotional Marketing tool.

To protect you legally, the telecom industry requires very specific, unambiguous "marketing" consent language to be present at the point of opt-in. If we allowed users to freely edit or remove the words "promotional" or "offers," the consent could be deemed legally invalid by cellular carriers, resulting in your texts being completely blocked by networks like AT&T and Verizon.
