To be able to send a file as an attachment, instead of needing to host somewhere and send as a link. This will allow the emails to be sent as if I was sending it personally, where I would be sending the file as an attachment and not as a link.
Option to attach a document to email campaigns
Hi everyone,
Thank you for your feedback! We completely understand the desire to make your campaigns feel as personal as possible, and that attaching a physical PDF feels like the most direct way to share information.
While adding the ability to attach raw, physical files directly to outgoing campaigns is Not Currently Planned, there is a very important, technical reason for this: Email Deliverability.
When you send an email through a bulk mailing platform to hundreds or thousands of contacts at once, physical file attachments are massive red flags for spam filters. Internet Service Providers (like Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook) frequently block, quarantine, or bounce bulk emails that contain physical attachments to protect their users from malware and viruses.
To ensure your campaigns actually make it into your customers' inboxes, we require documents to be hosted as clickable links.
The Safer Workaround: Instead of hosting your document on an external site, you can upload your PDF directly into your Constant Contact Library! From there, you can easily insert a document link or a beautifully styled "Download PDF" button into your campaign. This completely bypasses the spam filters while still giving your contacts instant access to your file.
As our tools have evolved to prioritize industry-leading deliverability rates, we are going to close this thread to keep our idea board actionable. If you have new feature requests regarding the Library or document management, please submit a fresh idea.
Thank you again for sharing your workflows with us!
