[Events 2.0] Ability to Decline Someone on the Event Dashboard

0 Votes

On the Event details page, in addition to the Landing Page URL: and Registration URL: links, and "Register Someone" button, let's add "Decline Someone" link or button to allow event administrators to decline someone for the event.

Status changed to: Acknowledged

Hi @PeterT4965. Thank you for the suggestion. We're updating the status of this idea to more accurately reflect its current status with our engineering team, and also made slight changes to the subject line in order for it to be more easily found. We can't guarantee a commitment to deliver on this feature request, but it should indicate some awareness that we have heard your feedback and could be taken under consideration for a future release.

There does not appear to be a way to accept or decline someone.  I have many members who respond to me via mail or verbally, and I would like to be able to accept or decline their invitations, as I was able to do in the old system, so my Constant Contact records will be correct.

Also, there does not appear to be a way to sort the acceptances.  I would like to be able to sort them via alpha, but the system does not appear able to do this, and only presents in chronological order.

It would be great to be able to also manage registration status internally. This new system does not seem as functional as it should be. The disconnect between the list of invitees and registration is maddening. I want to be able to see a list of invitees and be able to mark as attending or not as needed.

Yes, I have the same problem. This is a necessary feature, not just something that should be on the roadmap. Otherwise you are annoying your contacts by resending the email to those who have not responded, when they have actually responded either verbally, by phone, or by email that they are unable to attend. This could potentially cause them to unsubscribe from future emails and would be greatly detrimental to further communication with these individuals. I have found the overall experience of Events 2.0 to be extremely underwhelming. It seems to have been very poorly thought out. It has definitely made me start looking at alternatives to Constant Contact.

Like you are able to register someone manually to an event it would be nice to have the same one to manually decline people from the event.

https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/********/decline

This link structure can be found in the email builder (decline button link) before you send the email. Grab it and/or note the example URL above.

Note, the event ID can be found in the Registration URL. Like so: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/*******.
Copy/ paste the "event ID"  from the Registration URL into the decline URL structure. Equally, add "/decline" to the end of the Reg URL. Same Same.

This method should work until CC updates its URL structure. Dear CC, please provide a "manual" decline link on the event page.

Has there been any news on if this will be rolled out?
