Your Email summary stats, now more up-to-date!

Hello friends!

I've got a small update for everyone that involves Email reporting performance. Specifically, keeping summary stats up-to-date after you send out an email.

What we've heard from you

Many of you have written to me asking why your Email metrics aren't always up-to-date in different parts of the product. The short answer is that whenever we show you a summary stat, it needs to be calculated.

Because we do this on a schedule, sometimes the numbers on the Email Details page (or in other spots in the product) don't match what you see on the drill-down reports.

We hear you: you want your metrics to be as fresh and up-to-date as possible.

How we're addressing this (and when you'll see the changes)

Starting Thursday, July 9th, we're rolling out a change that will refresh and recalculate your Email counts (Opens, Clicks, Bounces, Unsubscribes, etc) once every five minutes for the first 24 hours after you send.

We're monitoring and measuring things to make sure that our systems stay stable, so you may not see these changes until the week of July 13th.

What does this mean for you?

Most of the metrics you see on the Email Details page and the drill-down reports will match and be in-sync more frequently for that critical first day post-send.

What about Send counts?

We know you've been asking for us to recalculate Sends more frequently too. While that's not covered here, we're making good progress on that front and you can expect similar updates for Sends around July 24th.

Here's how the "stat recalculation" schedule has changed

Note: This doesn't include send counts (yet) -- that's shipping later in July!
